OSX LastFM player suggestions

  • OSX LastFM player suggestions

The fact that the OSX Last.FM player uses Growl is awesome.
    I love it.

Couple of things that would make it better:

    * It would be if it responded to the click event on a growl popup.
That way when a new song starts playing that I know I want to skip... I can click the Growl message, and the Last.FM player would pop up.

    * I often am listening to a song that I've never heard before... and I want to know the name or the band's name. I wish that I could see this info in a menubar item, or maybe a dashboard widget or something... rather than having to pop up the player and context switch out of my current work.

    * Is it possible to make the Menubar have the Skip button on it, rather than having to drop down into the menu in order to skip tracks?

    * Speaking of the dashboard... It would be cool if the whole player (or maybe a simplified version of it) could be a dashboard widget rather than a full app. I might use that more, because as it is... I just start up the radio and then minimize the app anyway.

    Just some thoughts.
Cool service... nice work. Keep it up.

growl's a notification service. can it support what you requested? i don't know, but that isn't what it's designed to do.

    but growl already does this.

someone else might want another button as much as you want a skip button. so where do you draw the line? besides, it's not very mac-like.

you might be able to capture the onsite flash player of your playlist in safari as a dashboard widget (use the button between 'reload' and 'add bookmark') and play off that widget. uncheck the 'play audio only in dashboard' box, and you should be good to go.
