Hi all, almost two days now my songs don't get submitted. I use the winamp plugin and didn't update winamp or so. Version info is in the log file I'll paste below.
the song is submitted but I never receive a response from the server (I'm quite certain that normally, the server sents back an OK). Any thoughts?

DoctorO's plugin was working great for me until I listened to some songs with foreign characters in the tags. Instead of reporting correctly like the official Last.FM plugin does (the reason I switched in the first place was that CDs were not scrobbling) it just ends up as a bunch of ????s. Any chance of this getting fixed up?

DrO's AS compatability checker says my CDDA and MP3 plugins both work and both use the Unicode API.

I don't know, if anyone else is getting the same problem, but along with freezing of last.fm client(winamp 5.5), my connection just breaks down - I mean... how the hell? while software freezes itself - i get infos that my connection isn't working oO (can't get even to my freaking router's site, though pings goes through - ONLY restart of windows helps) I just assume it's somehow connected to last'fm bug or something ...
anyways now I'm checking gen_audioscrobbler mentioned earlier - hope it'll work.

I seriously doubt this is due to last.fm client, it seem some sort of more serious matter. Anyway just try to remove last.fm and see what happens.

I uninstalled last.fm software, and it turns out it was some problem with router's dhcp (localised thanks to second PC ^^), so there is no problem with software. Now I try again with the software, cause I love it :) ... Though after putting DrO's audioscrobbler, winamp went berserker for some unknown reason ;)
Anyways sory for my false alarm ;)

problem with Simplify media, Winamp and scrobbling

Dear Doctor O, I have installed Simplify Media on my computer. When I use Winamp for playing tracks from Simplify media playlists, i don't have any scrobbling. When I read my own playlists with winamp (without using simplify media), i have scrobbling. Is there something to do?

Winamp + Last.fm works fine, but Last.fm is not my music client and I really dislike having to run some extra software just to scrobble my songs.

DrO's plugin unfortunately doesn't work with Winamp 5.531 so I am stuck with running the Last.fm software as well, which is pretty stupid and unnecessary given Winamp's plugin abilities.

My opinion is better than yours.

Why doesn't u use a version that works then? I have 5.52 and it works just fine. And there's no big changes what I've found between 5.52 and the latest version.

Very strange, today my scrobbling became borked. I didn't update winamp or change any settings on my audioscrobbler plugin. I tried installing the AWAAS plugin and it flat out didn't work. Would really appreciate any help on getting my scrobbling to work again, I am not using some shitty proprietary lastfm player.

The DrO plugin posted by JSU on page 13 works for me - i didn't follow any of his proposed steps though, just dropped in the DLL (after deleting the shitty AWAAS plugin)

Thanks dude. This worked perfeclty. I hope for ever but we'll see...

Scrobbling is working again and with winamp 5.541. The key for me was to go into the registry and change force cache from 1 to 0. Im on winxp sp2...

whats wierd is that the log file at:
C:\Program Files\Winamp\Plugins

isnt the current log file?? wierd but anyway....

Thanks to Dr.O and everyone else keeping this alive. Saved me from loading another app on this computer!

Thanks, Dr.O, for the awesome winamp plugin. The official client is hardly a good solution even without it stopping working.

I've been using DrO's for at least a year. I've got Winamp 5.52.

I changed the regkey to 0 for FORCE CACHE, but when I start up Winamp again, it turns itself back to 1. Anybody know why?

Had the "official" plugin and winamp 5.x, everything working fine. Updated my xp to SP3 and winamp went down everytime the plugin called home.
Installed the new last.fm desktop software and my tracks are back online. I don't like having a whole new app open just for that though, so I'm gonna try that Dr O plugin everyone is talking about
