Problem with iPod Touch not scrobbling.

  • Problem with iPod Touch not scrobbling.

Last.fm recognized my iPod and added it to the list of iPods for scrobbling, but everytime I plug my iPod in to sync with iTunes nothing happens. If I remove the iPod from the iPod list in Last.fm and then plug my iPod back in, Last.fm will recognize it and add it to the list again, but still won't scrobble.
  • Try unplugging your iPod after syncing. That should trigger the scrobble detection process.

I have the same problem as topplehat, and I tried your solution, but I didn't get the confirmation to scrobble (although I checked that box), so I think that's not the problem. Anything else I (or, we) can do to solve this ?
  • Tried that too but to no avail.

I took a look in the iTunes log and it says exactly why it doesn't scrobble: I had MobileScrobbler installed. That's true, when my iPod was jailbroken. However, I restored my iPod so that it's not jailbroken anymore, but MobileScrobbler doesn't do his job anymore and now Last.FM won't either...
  • I've got one idea that might help:

Unplug your iPhone/iPodTouch and then in iTunes, go to the preferences window (in the Edit menu.) If you click the sync tab it should list your iPhone. Try clicking it and clicking the 'Remove Backup' button.

Close the preferences dialog and try plugging in your iPhone/iPod.

If this doesn't work then it means the file that MobileScrobbler writes to the iPhone still exists even after the restore, which could be a more tricky problem to solve.

    Let me know either way.

Hi, i'm from Brazil, so, don't look to my bad english.
    Lol

I try this thing: always conect ipod touch in "off mode". When it is powered on, Last.fm doesn't scrobble anything.

i have a different problem with my ipod. i have a feeling its one of those things that can be answered in 5 seconds.

i have my iPod set up with Lastfm and all, but when I put it in after listening to songs and the songs make their way to lastfm, i get this message:

Some tracks you submitted have not been added to your profile for the following reason:
Spam protection triggered: You submitted a track dated earlier than your last submission.

whats happening? I see the tracks i listened to on my recently listened thing, but when i click to see all of my recently listened tracks, they aren't there.

edit: just to clarify, i don't have an ipod touch, just a video if that makes any difference.

and, i sometimes recieve this message when i try to scrobble tracks from my ipod:

Some tracks you submitted have not been added to your profile for the following reason:
Your computer clock is incorrect. Please ensure that the time, date, and time zone are correct.

Cripes, you're right. I see this too.

"Mobile Scrobbler detected on iPod Touch - client scrobbling not needed."

I also had a jailbroken iPod which I restored two weeks ago so I could be ready for the new v2.0 software. But since I un-jailbroke it with a full restore, this shouldn't be happening.

  • me too, iphone 2.0 wasnt scrobbling but now it is.

advice above to delete backup file seemed to solve my problem...as a datapoint i had mobile scrobbler before but not anymore obviously....

saw this in the log when i had my issue....

I just tried it. There is still the "Mobile Scrobbler detected on iPod Touch - client scrobbling not needed." appearing in the log.

Do you think a complete restore of the ipod touch should help?

Well I just tried that and it seems that it worked.
I reinstalled LastFM.app, too so maybe you have to do both.
